Difference between Sarasa Clip and Sarasa R

Difference between Sarasa Clip and Sarasa R

Zebra Sarasa Clip uses a pigment-based gel ink, that the colour in the ink is added via tiny particles of pigment. Vivid in colour and smooth-flowing, the ink delivers consistent, crisp lines. This ink has excellent feather and water resistance and is good for art use as well as checks and legal documents. The ink is acid-free and archival quality.

Zebra Sarasa R was released in early 2021 using the same pen body as the Sarasa Clip, but moves to minimal all-white colour.

The real breakthrough of Zebra Sarasa R was its all-new ink. It is a dye-based ink that can increase colour density up to 27% when compared to the standard pigmented ink formula. This means the inks become blacker, darker, or brighter. Due to the nature of the ink, Sarasa R's writing lines will be slightly thicker even if the nib size is the same. Therefore, the three pens in this set will look similarly thick on paper even though it is a mix of 0.4 and 0.5 mm pens.
