Still Life with Flowers and a Watch (1660–1679) | Rijksmuseum
Abraham Mignon, 1640-1679
Abraham Mignon is a German painter who painted many still lifes of flowers and fruits. He was active mainly in the Netherlands. His flowers are characterised by delicate brushwork and careful finishing, and he was good at drawing red or white roses in the center and placing them so that they float on a dark background. If you look closely, even small insects are depicted realistically.
Rijksmuseum: The largest museum in the Netherlands, it houses a vast collection covering the history of Dutch art from the Middle Ages to the present day. There are also many famous works such as Rembrandt's "The Night Watchman" and Vermeer's "The Woman Who Pours Milk".
