Windy, colourful and drawn in oil pastel, the Hobonichi Techo Weeks Clear Cover Keiko Shibata: Dog Ears Fluttering in the Wind is the illustrated version of the Weeks Clear Cover — a PVC sleeve that goes directly over the Weeks book. It protects the cover through the year and gives a plain Weeks a finished look.
The picture is from Keiko Shibata’s 2022 “wind” series: a strong gust from the front, ears flapping, eyes rounded, fur blown sideways. From a distance it can look like dots; close up there are seven different dogs set on the diagonal. The warm pastel colour works over many Weeks shades.
