Botanical, spring-like and quietly formal, the Hobonichi Techo A5 Cousin Cover V&A Series: Blackthorn is a collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The front carries John Henry Dearle’s Blackthorn wallpaper — hawthorn and blackthorn blossom entwined for spring. The back is his 1912 Leicester design: stylised foliage and fine botanical detail.
Inside, the lining is a zesty yellow. A woven-label pen holder bears William Morris’s well-known line about keeping only what is useful or beautiful. The holder is made to grip a pen by the barrel, and still reads as a finished accent when empty.
This is a cover only, sized for the A5 Cousin. It also fits Cousin Avec and the A5 Day-Free monthly notebook.
